Tuesday & Thursday 4pm-5pm, $70 per month $100 if you have 2 kids enrolled

Youth Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at Standalone MMA will teach you how to have a sold foundation in ground fighting skills. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu can be trained for sport grappling tournaments (gi and no-gi), as an primary element of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) or self-defense and fitness. Sparring (commonly refered to as “rolling”) and live drills play a major role in training. Drills also build agility, speed, strength and conditioning exercises.

There are many advantages to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. If your goal is to become a fighter or to be able to defend yourself, Brazilian Jiu-jitsu has significant advantages over most other martial arts. Brazilian Jiu-jitsu was designed as a fighting style to defeat other martial arts, where styles like Boxing, Karate, Kung Fu, and Tae Kwon Do, all specialize in striking someone. None of them present solutions for someone who is pinned on the ground; conversely, Jiu-jitsu offers solutions for defending against striking attacks while standing, and on the ground, in addition to all methods of grappling attacks. Almost every fighter in the UFC supplements their training with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Many fighters who have a strong Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu background are very successful in the UFC.

As you progress through your training and your technical understanding grows so will your confidence. The increase in your confidence level is not only in the sense that you will be prepared to defend yourself in any self-defense situation, but there is an empowerment in the knowing that you have been able to learn and apply something special. You have accomplished something exceptional. This newfound confidence then carries over into other aspects of your life (work, home, school, relationships, etc).

The physical benefits students see from the class often jumpstarts them down the path to lead healthier overall lifestyles. You will see yourself gain strength, flexibility and endurance, you will see an increase in energy and a decrease in stress. You will start to see what your body really can do and you will love it!

Through the class environment you will also interact with people from many different walks of life. A rare camaraderie is shared amongst students, forging friendships that can last lifetimes.

Everybody beyond their 16th birthday is eligible for ALL the adult classes.
